Induced Circulation by Plunging and Submerged Jets in Circular Water Storage Tanks Using CFD

چکیده

Water circulation in storage tanks significantly impacts water quality distribution networks since old tends to have low residual chlorine concentrations that are insufficient neutralize microbial regeneration. Their large capacity and long residence times result uneven mixing, which can accelerate the disinfectant decay formation of potentially carcinogenic disinfection by-products. The phenomenon is strongly related tank inflow conditions, there no active mixing devices. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis flow dynamics circular using three-dimensional computational fluid model. main motivation inflow—which processes rely on—strongly influences circulations. numerical provided includes thorough investigation interest understanding for two configurations: (i) plunging jet modelling comparison with published experimental data (ii) submerged as an improvement measurement these tanks.
